Custom Sender Id

This is the name or number which flashes on the recipient's mobile phone when they receive an SMS Text message. Most GSM Networks/Operators accept up to an 8-character Alpha-Numeric String as Sender Identification.

An Alphanumeric Source Addresses must abide by the following criteria:

  • Must be between 3 and 8 characters in length (inclusive)
  • Must not contain blank spaces
  • The first character cannot be "0" (zero)
  • Must not contain accented characters
  • Must not contain punctuated/special characters, such as * $ < , > ? ! % [ ] | \
  • Must not contain Greek characters
  • Must not just be a name of an individual
  • Source Addresses are case sensitive
Acesmsc normally transmits its own Brand Name or Gateway Number as the Sender Identification for each of the messages that the Users send. The Users can change this to have their own Brand/Company Name. Currently, AceSMSC charges USD 40 per year for having your own Sender Identification.

Important TIPS on Sender Identification

  • All Regular Acesmsc Account Users have the option to set up their Sender Identification (Name/Number) only once. So, please use caution before you choose your Sender Name/Number. Once configured, requests for change of Sender Identification shall not be entertained, unless it is deemed as really genuine case by Acesmsc.
  • Some Networks/Operators do not grant the facility of a Dynamic Sender Identification, meaning each Sender Identification has to be specially approved by them before a message, bearing that Sender Identification, can be transmitted through their Network. This has been implemented to counter spam to a certain extent.
  • All API/SMPP Account Users, who have the option to dynamically change the Sender Identification, are requested to please get the list of all possible Sender Names/Numbers approved before they start sending out messages. Else, there could be a possibility of messages not being delivered.
  • The Sender Identification is not a guaranteed feature and may be changed by AceSMSC or its Service Providers' Networks with/without notice to suit the requirement of the various technologies/ networks/ regulatory bodies etc.
  • Acesmsc may take anything between 24 hours to 72 hours, after the payment has been realized, to activate the required Sender Identification.
  • Acesmsc reserves the right to approve the Sender Name/Number for Users at its sole discretion.

API Integration

An Application Programming Interface (SMS APIs) is one way to connect to AceSMSC ’s Core Messaging Platform. SMS API provides an easy, efficient and flexible option to integrate with your website / application, facilitating auto-generated SMS Text messages to be delivered to the intended recipients mobile phones. This method does not require AceSMSC ’s Software Platform at your Enterprise/Data Center site.

How much we are currently charging for bulk SMS APIs:

  • Setup fee of USD 131 per annum inclusive of Two Sender Names.
  • Setup fee of USD 80 per annum with no Sender Names.

If message contains special charcaters like space,@,- etc then please encode the message before passing it into the API call. Sample code to encode the message.

SMS on the Go

Now, with our unique Mobile2Many feature, you can easily send bulk SMS to contacts in your Phonebook from your mobile handset. Mobile2Many feature enables you to send SMS to your Phonebook contacts without the need to visit our website.

This is especially useful for persons/businesses who:

  • Are on the move but need to send out an alert/news to their Clients/Customers.
  • Are not connected to or do not have access to the internet..
  • Save on the costs of sending bulk SMS from their mobile phone, particularly when on roaming.
How does Mobile2Many feature work?

Send a single SMS Text message to AceSMSC Gateway Number with the short name of your Group (Group ID) as the first word in the message. As soon as our server receives the message, it is sent across to all members in that particular Group.

2 Way SMS

Acesmsc offers you a Two Way Messaging platform which allows you to receive SMS, besides sending SMS. This allows you complete flexibility in managing your incoming messages. You can modify/alter or delete these received messages as per your need.

This facility is available to all our users registered with us. The Two-way SMS feature works using a 'Keyword' as identifier of your messages. The Keyword can be upto 4 characters. You can specify keywords (such as abbreviated form of your "Nick Name", "BrandName" or "CompanyName")

The incoming messages will not be charged except for forwarding them to your Mobile.

Who can use our Two-way Service?

  • Individuals staying out of India & want to stay in touch with friends/relatives in India. Example: An NRI wants to stay in touch with his relatives in India. Using the "Keyword feature, he can receive incoming messages from India on his AceSMSC Account, ensuring he is always in touch & that too at Indian SMS rates. He can also opt to allow the messages to be forwarded to his Mobile by using "Mobile Push".
  • Any Business Owner who wants to Advertise & capture Interested responses through Short/Long code. Example: A Real Estate Owner wants to promote his product offering & capture the data of interested people. He can use the Keyword & advertise the same on either Long code or Short code, & whenever a prospect messages his keyword, the same can be received onto his Email Address through our?Email Push?. That is whenever he receives an incoming message to his keyword; an email alert will be pushed to him with the message contents.
  • Any Business who desires to use API to capture responses from their clients directly. Example: A Direct marketing company wants to allow users to book their products through SMS. Whenever a user sends an SMS in a particular format, it is sent to the company's Server through our "URL Push". The URL Push includes 1.Senders mobile number, 2.Text message and 3. Date/Time Stamp. He can further opt for a "Customized Response" (Static or Dynamic) ensuring the User is given an acknowledgement of his Request

How much will it cost to send a sms to the Short Code number from my mobile?

Short Code access is possible only from Indian mobiles as of now. As we acquire Short code for other countries, we will keep updating regarding the same. Short code messages are premium & hence charged accordingly.

How much will it cost to send a sms to the Virtual Long Code number from my mobile?

Messages to Virtual Long number cost the same as any Normal SMS. For this, your Existing Operator plans will apply.

Email 2 SMS

With Acesmsc’s "Email2SMS", you can easily send SMS to multiple recipients from your mail account. This feature allows you to send Bulk SMS from any E-mail Client/Application to any mobile phone across the globe. So, you need not always logon to your AceSMSC account or stay connected to the internet for sending SMS. This feature can be used for:

  • Sending Error/System Alerts automatically to a group of numbers, whenever an event occurs (Server error/ down alert for Systems Engineers, ISPs etc). (To know how look at SMTP API)
  • Users who do not have a direct internet connection but are connected to a mail server (like Outlook), which is connected to the Internet.
  • Send messages/ job details to colleagues, field-based engineers and support staff, which is away from the office (field force, agents, retailers etc).
  • Share the latest information/ appointment reminders with clients and partners

Note - Make sure your text message does not exceed 160 characters. If it exceeds the limit, our system will send the first 160 chracters as the message and the remaining characters will not be included. In case of Language SMS the character limit is 70 characters.

Setting up Email2SMS feature: Configure the E-mail id(s) from which you want to send the email. The default setting is the E-mail id you have provided during the registration process. You can change/add more E-mail ids at any point of time by clicking on the "Edit" link against "Email2SMS Settings" on "My Acoount" page.

Delivery Reports

Acesmsc offers instantaneous and dynamic delivery reports (also known as CDRs) to let you know the status of the SMS Text messages you have sent out, in a very easily understandable format. In addition, you can also download the reports into a Microsoft Excel worksheet for greater analysis. This facility is available to all users irrespective of the tool they are using, including the ones using AceSMSC API tools.

MESSAGE IN QUEUE Our server has accepted your message & is in queue to be submitted to the Carrier (Network Operator)
SUBMITTED TO CARRIER Your message has been submitted to the Carrier's SMSC (Short Message Service Center) and is waiting for the delivery status confirmation from the Carrier
DELIVERED Your message has been delivered to the destination mobile number
EXPIRED Your message validity period has expired. This happens when the destination mobile is either switched off or out of coverage area for a certain period of time. The SMSC failed to deliver even after its final attempt as per its retry scheme

Your message was not delivered. This happens when the Carrier encounters

  • inactive or unidentified or untraceable destination mobile number
  • mobile handset memory or inbox full
  • no credit balance available to receive the SMS Text message (specifically for pre-paid or pay-as-you-go)
  • not enabled to receive SMS Text message (typical for USA)
REJECTED Your message was rejected at the SMSC of the Carrier. This happens when the destination network is not available or blocked to the Carrier
